Energy bills slashed by 105%—from paying to getting paid!

Project Overview

beeSOLAR worked closely with this customer to design a system that best met their needs. The customer had just bought a new Electric Car, and wanted to offset their increased electricity bill as much as possible. Pre EV the customer only consumed around £600 – £700 per annum.

Job Location

  • Location: Newtownards, Co. Down, Northern Ireland

System Details

  • Solar Panels: Installed 16 x 450w solar panels on a south facing roof
  • Inverter: SolaX X1 Boost G4
  • Batteries: For this customer batteries weren’t require to maximise their savings.

Performance Highlights

  • Energy Demand Met: Achieved 228% of the homeowner’s energy demands.
  • Energy Usage: Taking their bill from £54 per month, to generating an annual income of £36.

Long-Term Impact

  • Estimated Savings:
  • Projected savings exceed £35,000 over 30 years, based on energy usage before the customer added an electric vehicle (EV).
  • EV Charging Strategy:
  • This customer also had an EV charger installed to take advantage of low off-peak electricity rates. In Northern Ireland, where there’s a 4p difference between the export rate and the night-time off-peak rate, it makes financial sense to export all surplus solar energy and charge the vehicle overnight. This approach maximises the return on solar generation while keeping charging costs low.
  • Environmental Benefits:
  • The system significantly reduces the household’s carbon footprint, supporting the customer’s long-term sustainability goals.

Conclusion

beeSOLAR’s tailored solution exemplifies expertise in solar PV system installations, showcasing a commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
